Crossbred and Merino market dearer. Halfbreds generally cheaper.
- CommentSouth Island only selling today with 10,600 bales on offer. The selection consisted of mainly good style fleece wool and second shear averaging 75mm. There was a reasonable selection of Halfbred fleece 26.5 to 28.5 micron and a limited selection of merinos. Main competition from China and India with support from Europe, the United Kingdom and Australasian carpet mills.
- FleeceGood colour fleece fully up to 4.5% dearer for 35 to 36 micron.
Coarser fleece 37 micron +, 2.5% dearer.
Average/poor colour fleece 3% dearer.
Fine Halfbreds firm to buyers favour.
28.0 to 30.0 micron halfbreds up to 12% cheaper.
Merinos showed very good support with increased prices across the board when compared with limited selection previously.
