NEW ZEALAND MARKET REPORT
Summary
Market unchanged.
Comment
North Island only selling today with 7,600 bales on offer. Selection was made up of 15% average/poor colour crossbred fleece, bulk 75/100mm, 35% average crossbred second shear bulk 75mm, 33% average colour crossbred lambs 29-31 micron, 15% associated oddments and 2% miscellaneous types. Indian sub-continent and Europe main, supported by local carpet mills and China.
All types generally 3.5% cheaper than last South Island auction but considering that there is no processing space available in the North Island and the associated cost of moving the North Island wool to the South Island for processing we consider the market unchanged.
